Grand Rapids Masonic Center
We consider our current home to be the jewel of Fulton Street Hill. It has a fascinating history that tracks the history of Grand Rapids and the growth of our community. In the end, no description can really adequately describe the grandeur or history of our building. We'll attempt to do it justice through pictures.
The Grand Rapids Masonic Temple is located at 233 East Fulton between Lafayette Street and the First United Methodist Church. It was designed by Osgood & Osgood Architects and built specifically for the use of the Masonic fraternity.

When the building first opened, it was occupied solely by the fraternity and its various rooms were used by the thirty or so organizations housed in the building. Today, the building's internal spaces are a mixture of commerical office space and meeting rooms used for various Masonic social or fraternal functions.
The Fire of 1947
Throughout the years the style and function of the building has changed to meet the needs of the fraternity. In 1947, the insides of the building were indelibly changed when a large portion of the building was destroyed by fire.
